TOP TEN REASONS TO JOIN AASL/ISS

1. WORK TOGETHER TO DEFINE BEST PRACTICE IN ISS SCHOOLS.

2. Stand on the shoulders of best practices in other ISS schools to achieve better practices in my own ISS school.

3. Visit ISS libraries across the country to see our best practices in action.

4. Learn better ways to use web 2.0 and beyond to integrate the ISS library into the independent school curriculum and the curriculum into the ISS library.

5. Educate the independent school community how libraries make them look great!

6. Be part of the leadership that works with AASL and NAIS to support ISS libraries to publish best practices in ISS libraries to the larger community of school libraries and independent schools.

7. Use the collective voice of ALA/AASL/ISS to strengthen your individual voice towards best practices in ISS libraries and schools.

8. Plan programs ISS wants to hear, and programs ISS wants our administrators to hear.

9. Work smarter with shared ideas from other ISS schools.

10. LINK VOICES WITH OTHER ISS LIBRARIES.

This is a total revision since ALA 2008 - hope you like it, AND hope you have suggestions to make it even better. Originally, we had in mind some sardonic humor, but I haven't been able to figure that out yet. I hope many of you have more ideas! Dorcas
